One hundred families currently facing hardship will be provided with weekly boxes of fresh produce, thanks to the support of a $50,000 donation by Pace Farm to Australian charity The One Box.
The One Box was formed in 2017 to provide families in need with a free weekly box full of fresh fruit, vegetables and bread over the school year. This year, The One Box aims to provide more than 110,000 boxes to 2,500 families in need.
The program’s impact extends well beyond nutrition – supporting mental health, strengthening social connections, and promoting dignity, inclusion, food security and broader family wellbeing.
The $50,000 donation from Pace Farm enables The One Box to partner with schools to distribute 4,000 boxes to 100 families experiencing hardship.
Pace Farm’s donation will support school communities along the Eastern Seaboard including Bonnyrigg Heights Primary School, Dallas Brooks Community Primary School, Rooty Hill Public School, Erina High School and Prairievale Public School.
Pace Farm Chief Executive Officer Phil Wiese said he was pleased to support The One Box and the vital work being done by the organisation to support families facing hardship.
“Like The One Box, we believe that access to nutritious food is a right, not a privilege,” Mr Wiese said.
“Our company vision is eggs for everyone, which closely aligns with The One Box’s mission – both organisations want to improve access to nutritious food for all Australians.
“Providing 100 families with fresh, healthy food for a whole school year is just one way we can help reduce food insecurity, build stronger communities and bring our vision to life in a meaningful way.”
The One Box Chief Executive Officer Martin Halphen said he was delighted to have Pace Farm join the program.
“The impact enablement that Pace Farm’s donation provides is outstanding,” Mr Halphen said. “We are thrilled by the opportunity to work closely together to better support kids and families in need.
“We look forward to being able to dream big together.”
