February’s pick goes to the S.E.C bagel from Bagel O’s Delicatessen in Mount Lawley, WA. It’s generous and unapologetic: a pork and herb patty, melted cheese, jalapeño mayo and ancho chilli BBQ sauce, all tucked into a freshly baked bagel.

But it’s the egg that brings everything together. Fried crisp at the edges with a soft, flowing yolk, it turns a good bagel into a great one – rich, satisfying and impossible to eat neatly. With much of the menu made in-house, from sauces to bagels, Bagel O’s delivers the kind of food that lives up to its reputation.
